Last June 2019, after my daughter passed away in January 2019, I made a decision to start losing weight as I weighed 410 pounds.
To keep things short, we are now parents to my daughters 2-year-old, and I knew I need to live longer. I pressed on as Dr. Bishoff, my cancer doctor (Director of Urology at IMC) said I had to get the weight off, so go see Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians (RMAP), along with my Primary Care Physician, Dr. Sparks, who monitored me and helped me set goals. Dr. Rodrick McKinlay and his team delivered on November 18, 2019 my Duodenal Switch (DS)!
I weighed at home today at 202 pounds. I went from 54 size pants to a loose 38 and soon to be 34. Never in a million years…Wow! I’m eating better and due to being 65 years old, it’s taking me longer to gain my strength. But my diabetes is gone, high blood pressure gone, cholesterol gone, sleep apnea gone, kidney and bladder issues gone. I’m so blessed as so many are counting on me.
The staff and RMAP and Dr. McKinlay are all my heroes! Thank you for all you do! Greatest program ever and essential. Dr. McKinlay is the greatest ever. He saved my life. You all saved my life.
