Last year I was turning 50 and I knew one thing, I did not want to live the next 50 years with the insecurities and shame I lived the first 50 years due to being overweight. I wanted to be fit and fabulous at 50! I had no idea how I was going to obtain it. I just knew I had to have it.
I was raised by a single mom. I had two older sisters and one brother. My older sisters were blessed with slender builds, but not me, I was the cute pudgy one. As long as I can remember, my brother and father also seemed to question me about my weight. “How much do you weight now, Kim?” I learned quickly that the ugly number on the scale was never going to be my friend.
I went through school always being a great student and on the honor roll. I mean if I couldn’t look like an “A” at least I could mentally be an A. I was always the biggest one in my group of friends, and learned quickly that guys didn’t want to be with the big girl. In all of my relationships with men I tolerated far more than I deserved, I guess I felt lucky that someone actually wanted to be with me.
After three children and my weight not averaging in the mid 200’s, I begin walking and pushing the stroller around my neighborhood, started slow with once around the block, then twice, then was able to increase to 3 to 5 miles a day, then something amazing started to happen, I started losing weight! It sure was GREAT while it lasted.
I moved to Utah in 2007, can u buy phentermine after getting heavier and heavier, I became borderline hyperglycemia and was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I started researching weight loss surgery and was blessed to find Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians (RMAP). I wanted to learn so much about a tool to help me finally get rid of what had brought me down my entire life.
I met with a nutritionist, and went to RMAP’s Risks and Benefits seminar and learned about four different options on weight loss surgery. I narrowed it down to the sleeve gastrectomy and had my surgery November 2013. Thanks to RMAP I learned proper nutrition prior to surgery. This last year has been nothing short of amazing. I have lost 100 pounds and feel fabulous. I have begun to rebuild my self-esteem. I learned how to eat healthy and also how to exercise to stay in shape. I am blessed to have wonderful insurance and a great staff at RMAP that made the process a breeze.
I would recommend weight loss surgery time and time again. Good luck to all of you and stay positive. Good luck to you!! Please feel free to reach out to me if I can help you in any way.
