Health Benefits of Weight Loss

Type 2 Diabetes Remission Many patients experience reduced need for insulin or full remission after procedures like gastric bypass or duodenal switch.

  • Improved Heart Health
Weight loss can lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels, and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.

  • Better Sleep
Significant weight reduction often resolves obstructive sleep apnea and improves sleep quality and energy levels.

  • Joint Pain Relief
Less strain on joints can reduce or eliminate chronic knee, hip, and back pain.

  • Improved Fertility & Hormone Balance
Particularly for women with PCOS or irregular cycles, weight loss can restore ovulation and improve reproductive health.

  • Increased Mobility & Physical Activity
Weight loss helps you move more easily, stay active, and enjoy life again.

  • Lower Risk of Certain Cancers
Obesity is linked to higher risk for cancers such as breast, colon, and endometrial cancer—weight loss may lower those risks.

Emotional & Quality of Life Benefits
  • Boosted Confidence & Self-Esteem
Feel better in your body and more comfortable in social, work, and personal settings.

  • Better Mental Health
Many patients report lower rates of depression and anxiety after achieving a healthier weight.

  • Increased Independence
Simple activities like walking, traveling, and playing with your kids become easier and more enjoyable.

Non-Surgical & Medical Weight Loss

We also provide medically supervised weight loss options for patients who may not qualify for surgery—or prefer a non-invasive approach:

GLP-1 Weight Loss Medications

We offer prescriptions for FDA-approved medications like semaglutide (Ozempic®, Wegovy®) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro®, Zepbound®) to help manage appetite and improve blood sugar control.

Nutritional Counseling & Lifestyle Coaching

Our registered dietitians and care team will guide you through personalized meal planning, behavior change strategies, and long-term goal setting.

Ongoing check-ins, lab work, and education keep you on track—whether you’re preparing for surgery or managing weight without it.

Surgical Weight Loss Options

Our board-certified bariatric surgeons perform the most effective, evidence-based procedures available today:

Gastric Sleeve (Sleeve Gastrectomy)

A minimally invasive surgery that removes a portion of the stomach to reduce hunger and improve fullness.
Best for: Patients seeking a strong, restrictive procedure with fewer long-term risks.

Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y)

A highly effective surgery that restricts food intake and changes how your body absorbs calories.
Best for: Patients with severe obesity or weight-related conditions like type 2 diabetes or GERD.

Duodenal Switch (including SADI-S)</strong>

A powerful option that combines restriction and malabsorption for maximum weight loss and metabolic improvement.
Best for: Patients with a high BMI or severe metabolic conditions.

Sleeve Gastrectomy

Duodenal Switch (DS)

Gastric Bypass

Bariatric Surgical Options

Laparoscopic Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG / Gastric Sleeve)
This procedure removes about 80% of the stomach, helping limit food intake and improve hunger regulation. Most patients lose roughly 60–70% of their excess weight.

Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass
This surgery reroutes the digestive tract and bypasses about 95% of the stomach, reducing food intake, improving hunger hormones, and decreasing calorie absorption. Patients typically lose about 80% of their excess weight.

Laparoscopic Duodenal Switch (DS)
This procedure combines a sleeve gastrectomy with an intestinal bypass to reduce stomach size and significantly limit calorie absorption. It is one of the most effective bariatric operations for both weight loss and metabolic improvement. Most patients lose approximately 70–85% of their excess weight, with substantial benefits for conditions like diabetes and high cholesterol.

Laparoscopic Revisional Surgery
Revisional procedures may convert a previous sleeve gastrectomy into a gastric bypass to address persistent acid reflux or weight regain. Other revision options include removing an adjustable gastric band and transitioning to a sleeve or bypass.
