Erin,

I am so excited for you and all the amazing adventures of this journey is going to take you on. But first I want to warn you this will be the HARDEST thing you will ever do mentally and emotionally. There truly is nothing I can say to prepare you for it, although I can tell you it is worth it. It is so, so worth it!

I want you to remember that you are beautiful, even before surgery you are worth fighting for. Don’t ever let yourself or anyone else make you feel any differently. When it gets hard, and trust me it will get freaking hard, remember YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS! You’re a strong woman, you will find out just how strong you are throughout these next few years you will go through lots of ups and downs. You will meet incredible people that will help hold you up when you are feeling down. You won’t regret one second of this journey, that I can promise you!

But I mostly wanted to write this letter to say I’m sorry! I am so sorry I didn’t love you enough to do this sooner. I am sorry I let it get as bad as it did. I’m sorry I let you be so unhappy for so long. My heart breaks that I let you sit on the sidelines and watch life pass you by, watch your kids play instead of living life and playing with them.

Okay, here we go, Rockstar! Let’s go lose 140 pounds and feel great, getting healthy was the best decision I ever made!

Love always,
A much happier, healthy Erin.
