I have struggled with my weight since I was a young adult. I had Adjustable Gastric Band surgery on September 5th 2012 and it changed my life! I had a difficult time making a decision on which weight loss surgery to have.
I understood that the gastric band surgery had less results on average than any of the other weight loss surgery options. But, on the other hand it also had fewer initial complications and side effects. It also was a less invasive procedure. The amount of weight I wanted to lose was around 80-90 pounds so I ultimately decided that the gastric band was a good fit for me.
I initially lost the 80 pounds and reached my weight loss goal. Since going on “maintenance,” I have gained a few of the pounds back. However, I am still extremely happy with my choice and my new life in my new body. I have boundless energy and I am having so much fun with my kids and grandkids! Before my weight loss surgery I usually just sat in a chair and watched them play. Now I am racing with them in the backyard, going on hikes and finding new adventures. I love buy phentermine online using paypal being the “fun” grandma now.
I had a lot of people warn me that by going on a low-carb diet I was going to have no energy. Not so! I had more energy than ever before. I did feel weak and light-headed for a few weeks after surgery, but once my body adjusted to the new diet, I felt fantastic.
It is still very hard for me to not go back to old habits. Yes, I still want my daily Pepsi and candy bar. But I like to look through old pictures of my “fat days” and that cures me. I don’t ever want to go back to the old me ever again.
